Brief description of Habits of Mind

Describing the Habits of Mind by Arthur L. Costa

Weeks of May 17- May 28th
Participation is a big factor in Biology and will be averaged into the overall grade - please see the Participation Rubric  to see how you will be graded.

We are talking about animals - characteristics of Invertebrates and Vertebrates.  You should be taking notes on all materials covered in class. 

 "Safari Card" of your specific animal is due this Thursday.  Be prepared to make a presentation in front of the class.

On Friday we will begin the dissection of the pig and this will extend into next week Thursday.  This will give you 4 days to work on this assignment.  We will be looking at various systems of the pig and answering lab questions as you dissect.  You will need to know the location and function of various structures.  I will be going around and asking you questions as you dissect.  The lab questions and worksheets will be due on Thursday, May 27th.

Assignment:  
Monday:      You will be making a crossword puzzle on Invertebrates and Vertebrates 
Tuesday:    Quiz on vertebrates and Invertebrates (read pages 657 - 661) 
Thursday :  Safari Card presentations
Friday:         Start of Pig Dissection
