Science Courses

 

General Science

A topical approach to the major disciplines in science.

Biology

Prerequisite: General Science
Study of living things in God's creation and their relationships to the non-living environment and to each other.

Chemistry

Prerequisite: Algebra II strongly recommended; may be taken concurrently.
Study of the elements that make up the universe; characteristics; reaction with other elements; structural makeup; usefulness or harmfulness to man.

 

Physics

Prerequisite: Algebra II strongly recommended; may be taken concurrently.
Study of the laws and principles of nature that govern God's creation

Accelerated Physics

Prerequisite: Algebra II strongly recommended; may be taken concurrently.
The class moves at a faster rate and covers more material and Physics 580.

Geology

Students will relate changes in the earth's interior and surface to the major geological topics of atmosphere, water and rock in order to lessen or prevent damage to the environment.

Environmental Science

Students will combine ideas and information from the natural sciences and the social sciences to analyze problems caused by our use of the natural world and develop remedies for these problems
