Form of Manuscript - Long
A. Materials
- Use standard unruled, white, 8-1/2 by 11 inch paper.
- Pages are to be fastened with a paper clip.
- Work should be double-spaced, typed, if possible, otherwise legibly written with blue or black ink. If printed, use letter quality print; avoid script or other elaborate print. Do not justify.
B. Arrangement of Page
- Use one side of paper only
- Double space all work, including long quotations.
- Maintain a one inch margin on all sides of the paper.
- Begin numbering with page two of the text. Use Arabic figures only, with--out dashes, periods, or parentheses. Place figure in center of top margin.
- Centered Roman numerals are used in indicating major sections of long papers.
C. Endorsement
- Use a separate title page.
- Title of composition centered on the page. The first word and all important words of the title are capitalized.
- Student's name, course title, instructor's name, and date should appear in the lower right hand corner of the title page. This should be single-spaced.
